Seine eigenen Werke f\u00fcr die B\u00fchne wurden im Ausland aufgef\u00fchrt. Sein Roman Makra wurde in 12 Sprachen \u00fcbersetzt und hat sich weltweit 1,2 Millionen Mal verkauft (Makra, 1972; Name Day, 1973; Rock Wall\/Grooms, 1976; Twenty-one, 1984; Family House with a Manzard, 1984). Sein Kurzroman He Who Dares Wins wurde 1984 auf Bulgarisch in Sofia ver\u00f6ffentlicht und sein Roman Makra, ebenfalls auf Bulgarisch, erschien 1988. Mehrere seiner Werke wurden auf Franz\u00f6sisch, Rum\u00e4nisch, Deutsch, Tschechisch, Polnisch, Russisch, Slowakisch, Schwedisch, Estnisch, Japanisch, Spanisch usw. ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Seine wichtigsten Romane und Theaterst\u00fccke spiegeln die ungarische Gesellschaft der 1960er und 1970er Jahre aus der Sicht der Jugend und der Arbeiterklasse wider. Seine B\u00fchnenst\u00fccke werden noch immer \u00fcber die Grenzen Ungarns hinaus aufgef\u00fchrt.
