Gyula J\u00f3zsef Ob\u00e1dovics, PhD (Baja, 3 March 1927 -) Doctor of Science, Doctor of Engineering, Candidate of Science in Mathematics. Former head of department at the Agricultural University of G\u00f6d\u00f6ll\u0151, founder of Scolar Publishing House. Author of 15 books, 30 university notes, 52 scientific publications. One of the founders of Hungarian computer science education. He is known throughout the country for his summarizing and practicing manual-like mathematics textbook Mathematics at secondary and higher levels, which has been used by generations and has been published in numerous editions, and is known as “the Ob\u00e1dovics”. He also writes fiction under the pseudonym Simon the Shaman. After his retirement he also published erotic novels under the name Julius J. Coach.

\nIn 1945, at P\u00e1zm\u00e1ny P\u00e9ter University, without Latin and Greek baccalaureates, he could not major in literature, so he was admitted to the physics-mathematics department at the university. His excellent teachers were Lip\u00f3t Fej\u00e9r, B\u00e9la Ker\u00e9kj\u00e1rt\u00f3, P\u00e1l Sz\u00e1sz, P\u00e1l Tur\u00e1n, L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Fejes T\u00f3th, Alfr\u00e9d R\u00e9nyi.
\nHe graduated in 1950 with a degree in mathematics and physics. In addition to his subjects, he also attended lectures in philosophy, logic, psychology, ethics, didactics, curriculum theory, school organisation, social sciences and literature. At the University of Miskolc, he was an adjunct professor and then associate professor in the mathematics department. He developed the curriculum of computer science and numerical methods. He was head of the Computer Department of the National Centre for Management Training and later organised and became director of the Institute of Computer Science at the M\u00dcM. Bunyev\u00e1c is a native Hungarian citizen and learned Hungarian only in kindergarten.
