Il est dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l&rsquo;Institut sup\u00e9rieur de formation des enseignants de Szombathely en 1968, avec une sp\u00e9cialisation en art populaire\/biblioth\u00e8que.  <\/p>\n<p>Il traduit r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des textes litt\u00e9raires depuis le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1980. Depuis 1993, ses traductions sont publi\u00e9es sous le nom de G\u00e1bor Romh\u00e1nyi T\u00f6r\u00f6k. <\/p>\n<p>Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 Chevalier de l&rsquo;Ordre des Arts et des Lettres en 2002. En 2014, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cor\u00e9 de la Croix de l&rsquo;Ordre du M\u00e9rite de Hongrie. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Je cherche la pierre philosophale. Je pense que c&rsquo;est le livre qui rend la plupart des autres livres superflus, qui les d\u00e9place. Beckett, Nietzsche et Foucault sont de tels auteurs. Je voudrais savoir ce que je fais dans un monde dans lequel je suis arriv\u00e9 pour un temps relativement court, non de mon plein gr\u00e9, et que je suis sur le point de quitter. Pour toujours. Je cherche le livre qui r\u00e9pondra pour toujours \u00e0 la question : que vaut vraiment la vie ? Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 lui, je vaincrai mon angoisse, ma peur de la mort, ma peur de l&rsquo;an\u00e9antissement \u00e9ternel.
