Csuday Csaba

Csuday Csaba was born in 1944 in Kassa. Poet, prose writer, researcher and translator of Spanish-language literature. Since 1974 he has published dozens of independent books of literary translations. Between 1974 and 1990 he was a column editor for the magazine Nagyvilág. In 1990-1995 he served as a diplomat at the Hungarian Embassy in Madrid. Between 1996 and 2011, he was a professor at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. From 2013 to 2020 he is editor of the MMA’s theoretical journal, Hungarian Art. He is a holder of the Spanish Order of Merit and the Order of Merit of Hungary. His most recent book is Present, Elsewhere, Nowhere (Poems, Poetry Translations, 2020).
