Browsing the online store

To browse the online store and view the products, no prior registration is required. There are several ways to browse products in the online shop:

if you know the product name, you can search directly by typing it in the SEARCH box,
in the online shop, products can be sorted into several categories.

You can sort the products listed by name (alphabetical order) or by price. The operation of our webshop is described below in accordance with the provisions of the Electronic Commerce Act (Act CVIII of 2001).

Register for the online store

Registration can be initiated at the end of the first purchase process. Registration is based on the information required for the purchase, during which you will be asked to provide your name, (delivery) address, telephone number and email address. The data are necessary to complete the order and are also the data required for registration. You can register in Hungarian and will soon be able to register in English, and you will also find information about the products in the webshop in Hungarian and will soon be able to find information in English. The data provided during registration can be modified and deleted before the order is sent, but not afterwards. If you do want to make a change or a mistake has been made, please contact us. After your first purchase, and if you have ticked the box to register, you will receive an email with a message containing your access to the online store. The “Hungarian P.E.N. Club” uses the above information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

Remote contract

The subject matter of the contract is all the goods in the www.magyarpenclub.hu and www.hungarianpenclub.com webshop. You can find out about the properties and characteristics of the goods on the specific page for each item. The details of the products in the online shop are valid at the time of ordering. In case of a new order for the same product, but at a later date, the data may change. Offers on the online shop are valid at the time of purchase.

By filling in and sending the order form and confirming it by e-mail to the “Hungarian P.E.N. Club”, you comply with the provisions of the Hungarian Law 45/2014. Pursuant to a Government Decree, an absentee contract is concluded between the “Hungarian P.E.N. Club” (Address: Budapest 1053, Károlyi utca 16. Tax number: 19815981-2-41, Registration number: 01-02-0001626) as the Service Provider and the Customer as the Customer, under the following terms and conditions:

If the Customer has requested home delivery during the purchase, the Service Provider is obliged to deliver the product(s) selected by the Customer on the order form to the delivery address indicated on the order form after payment.

If the fulfilment of the order is hindered for any reason, the Service Provider is obliged to contact the Customer immediately by e-mail or telephone in order to agree on the further steps, in which case the distance contract between the Parties shall not be concluded.

The Customer shall take delivery of the products indicated on the Order Form sent by him and delivered by the Service Provider to the address indicated, and pay the purchase price indicated on the confirmation sent by the Service Provider, including the packaging and delivery costs of the products, to the Service Provider in the manner of his choice.

Issues not covered here are governed by the Civil Code and by Decree 45/2014. Korm. shall apply. The language of the contracts concluded through the use of the webshop is Hungarian, the contracts concluded in this way do not constitute a written contract and will not be registered by the “Hungarian P.E.N. Club”.

Buying and ordering

You can add the product you are looking for and wish to purchase to your shopping cart by clicking on the “Add to Cart” button, which is located on the listing page of each product and on the detailed product data page next to the product.

You can delete the products in your shopping cart from here or change the quantity of the product you have ordered. You can add more products to your shopping cart if you wish to buy more, or you can complete and place your order by clicking on the “Add to Cart” button in the header and then on the “Place Order” button on the order summary page.

On the order summary page, you can view and modify the information related to the order and send other text messages to the Service Provider related to the order.

The prices indicated in the online shop include VAT.

In the case of payment by card, the following personal data stored by the data controller in the user database of magyarpenclub.hu/hungarianpenclub.com will be transferred to Barion Payment Zrt. as the data processor: surname, first name, country, telephone number, e-mail address.

If you choose a non-cash payment method, we will only start shipping the products after the payment transaction has been completed.

After the order is placed, our system first sends an automated message to send the order, and then an official confirmation of the order is sent to our customers by email.

The user agrees and accepts to receive a printout of his invoices with his order.

Complaints

If there is a complaint about the quantity and/or quality of the purchased product, the supplier will return the product in question, provided that the complaint was made at the time of delivery. In case of a legitimate complaint, the cost of delivery of the new product will be charged to the Hungarian P.E.N. Club.

The rights of consumers are set out in the Directive 45/2014. Korm. regulation, in summary:

Withdrawal

The consumer has a right of withdrawal. The right of withdrawal

after receipt of the product,
or, in the case of a service, after the conclusion of the contract

can be exercised within 8 working days (or 14 calendar days). In the case of written withdrawal, it is sufficient to send the withdrawal notice to the service provider within 8 working days. The buyer may withdraw from the purchase without financial consequences if he can return the product in its original condition. In case of damage to the product, the Customer is obliged to compensate the Service Provider. The “Hungarian P.E.N. Club” is obliged to return the goods and the costs related to the order within 30 days, the cost of returning the goods shall be borne by the buyer.
