Born in 1959 in Hajdúnánás.
He graduated in Debrecen (Kossuth Lajos University) and Nyíregyháza (Bessenyei György Teacher Training College). Lives in Mátészalka.
Editor-in-chief of the Partium literary journal.
He is a member of the Hungarian Writers’ Association and the Kölcsey Society. He is a member of the public board of the MMA.
In 2021 he was awarded the Gyula Illyés Prize of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. He has also received the Endre Ady and József Ratkó Prizes and the Quasimodo Special Prize.
His last book of poems, entitled Under the Freezing Point, was published by Magyar Napló in 2020.
