Aniko Bali

I was born in Kisvárda in 1974. I graduated from the Janus Pannonius High School in Pécs, and got my teaching diploma in Kaposvár. I wrote my thesis from children’s literature, from the stories of Pál Békés. Later I applied to the Hungarian faculty of PTE, then I got a master’s degree in pedagogy and Hungarian. In 2022, I was admitted to the doctoral programme in Culture and Literature at the University of Pécs with the same topic, but I interrupted my studies in the meantime.
I have been writing poems and short prose since 2014. At Kodolányi University I attended András Petőcz’s lyric writing course, then János Lackfi’s writing course, and I am currently a member of István Turczi’s Filter Workshop. Since 2019, my writings have been published in Bárka, Élet és Irodalom, Parnasszus, Kalligram, Irodalom Ismeret, Nyugat Plusz, Magyar Műhely, Magyar Napló and Szófa.
My first book of poems, Ha megérkezel (If You Arrive), was published by Parnasszus Publishing House in 2023.
I live with my family near Pécs. I became a member of the P.E.N. CLUB in 2024.
