Attila F. Balázs

He graduated from the Mathematics and Physics Lyceum in Ditro (1973), then continued his studies at the Roman Catholic Theological College in Gyulafehervár, and graduated as a librarian and translator in Bucharest. For thirteen years, she was librarian of the County Library of Chiucaregheiu County. Between 1990 and 1992, he was editor of the Szabad Újság in Bratislava, a staff member of the Hungarian broadcast of Slovak Radio and the daily newspaper Új Szó in Bratislava, and manager of the Madách Book Publishing House in Bratislava. In 1994 he founded the publishing house AB-ART in Bratislava. From 1999 to 2001 he was President of the Society of Hungarian Writers in Slovakia. In 1996 he took over the literary journal Szőrös Kő. Since 2010 he is the founding editor of Poesis International, a journal in Satu Mare. He is a member of the European Academy of Science, Arts and Letters in Paris, the Hungarian Writers’ Union, the Romanian Writers’ Union, the Hungarian PEN Club, the Hungarian Writers’ Society of Slovakia, and the League of Hungarian Writers of Transylvania. His first publication was in the Bucharest magazine Jóbarát in 1969, and his first book of poems, entitled Masks, was published by Madách Publishing House in Bratislava in 1992.
