Since 2014, he is the First Consul of the Consulate of Hungary in Berehovo. Between 2013 and 2014 he was Deputy Director of the National Strategic Research Institute. From 2003 to 2008 he was Director of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Bucharest. From 2011 to 2013 Hungarian Commissioner of the Visegrad Fund. From 2004 to 2006 he was the founding president of the documentary film festival Film.dok, from 1994 to 2012 he was editor-reporter (Panorama) and editor-in-chief (Drama and Literature Editorial Office) of MTV, from 1990 to 1995 he was editor-reporter of (Heti)Magyarország. Between 1985 and 1989, he was editor of the weekly newspaper Köznevelés. Between 1980 and 1984, he was a primary school teacher in Sepsis.
