Péter Beáta

Born in Csíkszereda in 1982. He graduated from Babeș-Bolyai University in 2005 with a degree in theatre studies, and later continued his studies at the Târgu Mures University of Arts with a Master’s degree in playwriting.

He worked as an artistic secretary and dramaturg at the Tomcsa Sándor Theatre and the Udvarhely Dance Workshop.

For more than ten years, she was a journalist for Székelyhon and Liget portal, editor of the Transylvanian literary-cultural magazine Előretolt Helyőrség, published theatre reviews, theatre-related articles, and co-canvases in Helikon, Székelyföld, Játéktér, among others, and also appeared in Nőileg, Képmás, Petőfi.hu and Hungarian Culture magazine.

He was awarded the Media Abroad for the Family Award and the András Bálint Award for his journalistic work.

In 2020 and 2022 he was awarded the István Örkény Playwriting Fellowship, which was the year of his works The Farewell Walk and The Starry Hotel’s Resident.
