Róbert Laczko Vass

Róbert Laczkó Vass, actor, poet was born in Gyergyóremete, Szeklerland in 1976. He graduated from the Faculty of Theatre Arts of the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj as a student of András Csíky, Kossuth Prize-winning actor. During his career, he has worked with internationally renowned directors, and as a collaborator of contemporary composers and conductors, he has contributed to the national and world premieres, television and recordings of many works. He regularly performs in nearly twenty solo literary and musical recitals, both at home and abroad. His poems and public essays have appeared in various written and electronic publications, and his public discussion evenings, Open Eyes, have been a great success with audiences. He is the author of six books of talks, six poetry collections and a photo album. He has published a series of traveling photographs in the Catholic magazine Christian Word in Cluj. Many of his poems have been set to music, and a full-length “poetry concert” with symphony orchestra was composed from his poems, which was performed by the Hungarian Opera of Cluj in 2024 under the title Silhouettes.
