Imola Orsolya Benkő was born in 1979 in Timisoara. She graduated in Hungarian Theatre Studies at the University of Szeged.

Imola Orsolya Benkő was born in 1979 in Timisoara. She graduated in Hungarian Theatre Studies at the University of Szeged. She works as the artistic director of the Homo Ludens Project, an independent theatre collective, and teaches directing practice and dramaturgy at the University of Szeged. I live in Sopron and Szeged.

She started writing in 2020, participating in László Szilasi’s creative writing workshop, János Lackfi and Gergely Péterfy’s courses.
He was an invited participant in the summer writing camp of the Contemporary Journal. For more than a year he was mentored by poet Tamás Ijjas.

She is a regular contributor, her poems and short stories have been published in Apokrif Online, Új Forrás Online, KULTer.hu, SZIFONline, Szófa, PRAE, Bárka, Székelyföld, Irodalmi Jelen, Magyar Napló, Helikon, Tiszatáj, Kortárs, LÁTÓ, Kalligram, Népszabadság, Élet és Irodalom, among others.
His poems and short stories have been included in several anthologies, most recently his text Mackósajt (Poetry and Cheese) was published in Az év novellái 2024.
He is currently working on his first novel.
